One of my favourite bloggers - Karen Cheng will be in town!

I have been an avid fan of her blog for quite sometime and how I wish I could blog like her! She’s so honest and funny in her writing, and she takes great pictures!

Anyway, she’s gonna do something worthwhile during her vacation in Singapore. She would be helping to raise funds for needy people through the Singapore Red Cross by “Doing The Karen Cheng pose” in front of a large mirror with her Singapore fans/readers on 5th July, 4 pm.

Father Day’s Celebration

I really hate crowds and overpriced food on special occasions like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. On these special occasions, you not only have to wait a longer time for your highly-priced food to arrive but also to expect these food not be cooked very well (due to chef/cook rushing to churn out as many dishes as possible to satisfy the demand).

So, I told my dad to wait for another week (haha…he didn’t mind lar…)

Last night brought my dad and mum for an international buffet dinner at CafeBiz at Trader’s Hotel last night to celebrate Father’s Day! The place looks quite posh and nice ambient.

The spread was pretty good  - especially their desserts (I’m still thinking abt their chocolate fondue and durian puffs!). They also serves Brazilian Churrasco (ham, chicken wings, steaks, prawns, sausages, pineapple etc…) from table to table, which is quite interesting. The seafood were quite fresh too.

Overall, we enjoyed the food and most importantly, I think my dad, who is usually quite picky abt his food, really like the food too… :)

DBS credit card is now having a promo now - 1 dines for free with every 2 paying adult diners!

Say “Mogo Mogo…”

One of my very dear colleagues back in office would be leaving Nexus for a better career prospect elsewhere. Although, I have only worked with him for a very short period of time, I really appreciate him being so ever helpful, kind and funny.

It’s not easy to get him an unique farewell gift as he is the ‘gadgety’ type. But thanks to CY, we have found this cool “Mogo” laptop mouse for him. Hope he likes it.

This light-weighted unique mouse is actually a combined wireless multimedia remote and mouse that stores and charges inside your laptop’s ExpressCard/54 slot. No need to install driver - it has an embedded Bluetooth technology that can connect itself to the laptop and you would be able to control iTunes, YouTube, Windows Media Player and other media from 30 feet away.

Cool!

Life at Telok Blangah Hill

Our weekly “Life Day” is on every Thursday. I usually couldn’t join my colleagues for their weekly “Got will, no skills” running routine around Telok Blangah Hill until today as I usually have to pick up Alan after work. Alan was on night shift today, hence, I took the opportunity to join them for a run/walk.

There were 2 groups - the running group and the walking group. I thought that since I’ll be running the marathon, I better start a more intensive training by joining the running group… but haiz… even before my face turned red, I started getting giddy and felt like puking .

And well, i stopped and threw up half of my lunch :(  and joined the walking group thereafter. Haiz… I better up the frequency of my training man to avoid fainting during my 6 km run…

Although I didn’t get to run, the trip was not wasted.

It’s really refreshing to take a walk amidst the nature and strolled part of the southern ridges, through the two new pedestrian bridges namely the Henderson Waves and Alexandra Arch.

We also walked through the HortPark, which is the Southeast Asia’s first one-stop gardening and lifestyle hub. It is a truely beautiful park with different types of pretty blooming flowers!

Kudos to Nparks!

…Zohan!!

Saw this latest movie trailer starring Adam Sandler (the comedian of the century!) as an Israeli commando turning into a hairstylist in New York!

Darn Funnie! Looking forward to catch this movie when it’s out…

Oh ya… and it even inspired a “Zohan’s Super Spa” shockwave game!

It has been a long time since I last played simple silly games without any brain-wrecking strategy thinking involves… haha… enjoy!

Yeah… finally complete my MSc!

Alan called me yesterday at the office to inform me that our exam results are out!

I was so happy that both of us have passed and the grades were similar to what we have expected.

Now, we are looking forward to attending the Convocation in 26 July!

To celebrate, Alan promised to take me for shopping spree and makaning in Hong Kong!

That’s one more thing to look forward too… :)

The weather has been terribly hot these days.

Heard on the radio this afternoon that the highest temperature was 34 °C and lowest at 27 °C!

Worst still, the air-con back in the office was not working well, so it’s like working in an oven.

Well, i guess I have chose a good time to go Genting.

Look forward to my cooling holiday up in the cloud.

Clearing my rubbish chute

I have a big rubbish chute in my flat.

It’s my storeroom.

The amount of stuff we have is amazing, it practically filled up almost 3/4 of my living room?!

I told Alan that this is weird coz we just moved in 3 years ago, so how can our stuff got accumulated so fast?!

After checking through the items, we then realised that almost half of the stuff are “gifts” from both our parents…

Apparently, these are “gifts” which they didn’t want but find them “sayang” if they throw them away.

So, when we moved into our new flat, they have finally found these stuff a “refuge” to go to…

Now their problem has naturally became ours. Haiz…  :(

Another hobby of ours…

Alan and I are both very homely people so we usually enjoy activities which we can do at home during our free time . Things like net surfing (for me), channel surfing (for him) , gaming, reading, cooking are some of the favourite things we love to do. Playing Jigsaw puzzle is another favourite hobby of Alan. I like it too but for Alan, he’s a true blue fan!

That is when we decided to continue with this hobby of ours right after our exam.

We were at the Jigsaw Puzzle World  the other day when Alan decided to buy one…

Me: Hey, choose this one lar… so nice…

Alan: Ok ok.

Me: That one lar… also nice…

Alan: Oh this one? Also can.

Me: Dun pick the 1000 pcs one, not challenging at all… take the 2000 pcs one lar…

Alan: Wah, 2000 pcs one? Sure or not…?

Me: Aiya, what is 1000 pcs one to you man…? Da-challenging… Sub-sub-water right…. You must be daring to take on the challenge.

Alan (ego-at-stake): Or… ok ok.

So we happily bought the 2000 pcs Mickey puzzle. :)

2000 pcs jigsaw

Back home, like a happy excited little boy, he quickly opened up the package and started to pick out the edge pieces of the puzzle.  But after a while…

Alan: Argh…. I’m getting cross-eyes oredi!

Me: Oh, tot you said no problem?!

Alan: huh?! When did I ever say that?

Hee… let’s see how long we will take to finish this puzzle :).
