Watched 881 during the branch outing today.
It’s a very nice show with a very good cast and excellent the hokkien songs (”the” hokkien song? me and my broken english… duh… just realised that)!
This movie is like a local “Moulin Rouge” and 80% of the movie are dances and songs. I heard some people cried after watching the movie as the ending part was sad (the little papaya died) . My tears were at the brim of my eyes but I didn’t cry.
Overall, I would give it a 4 / 5 stars!
I heard that the soundtrack were out of stock!! Will buy after they restock the cds.
Especially love this song “一 人一 半” – enjoy the music video.

This is a special show that really reflect life behind the getai.. at least it does not depicts hokien dialect in its crude way. In this show what touches us most was people
stands up and help each other in bad times.. helping aunt lingling to prepare for the papaya sister.. I heard part two coming.. Durian versus Rambo-tan sisters..
