Do U have this symptom?

ringxiety

If you ever shop with me in a noisy shopping mall, you would see me holding up my handbag against my ear every other minutes or so….

This always make me look comical.

So comical that Alan just couldn’t resists the chance to make fun of me. He would start to pretend picking up my bag and does the same thing, and then say: “hello…hello… ” and look at me saying: “I didn’t know that your handbag has a phone function?!”

Duh… I was just trying to check if my mobile phone in my handbag is ringing!

Well, I was relieved when I read this article off my fav mag that I am not the only one who has this Ringxiety symptom.

The article stated that people nowadays have this kind of symptom called “Ringxiety“. This term comes from a combination of the words “ringer” and “anxiety”, which describes the sensation and false belief that one can hear his mobile phone ringing or feeling it vibrating, when the fact that it’s not doing so. The reason for this relates partially to the idea that humans are extra sensitive to auditory tones between 1,000 to 6,000 Hz, and ringtones often fall within this range, which can be difficult to locate spatially, leading to potential confusion. False vibrations are less understood and could be linked to psychological or neurological sources.

So are you suffering from it yet?
