Eat something different… try Brazilian!
Brought my mother-in-law to this brazilian restaurant last saturday after shopping for her track shoes at Queensway Shopping Centre. Just recently, Jo, recommended me this restaurant Rio Brazilian Restaurant which is located just besides the Queenstown Remand Prison, in the heartland of Queenstown. Although it might be a little out of the way and it doesn’t sound like a glamorous place to dine and wine, you would be in for a surprise as you stepped into this small cosy restaurant. The interior, ambience and music of this restaurant is real good with great, polite serving staff. you can choose to sit at the alfresco outdoor dining area or the candlelight, cosy indoor dining area.

And guess who we saw as we stepped into the restaurant!?! Jo and his wifey went back there for dinner! Wat a coincidence … heheh… (Luckily he was with his wife and not some other woman…kekeke ).
Anyway, it is a buffet style dining and they have a small selection of salad bar. My mother-in-law wasn’t too sure that she likes it as she stepped into the restaurant. She thought the salad bar was the only food they have there. Well, she was in for a surprise!

The meat would be served hot from the oven grill. The server will go from table to table, slicing meat off the skewers. There are all sorts of meats ranging from chicken, bacon, beef to lamb and if you ordered the full buffet set, you can even get seafood like dory fish, mussels, squids and prawns.
Expect everything to be on the saltish side though. Just make sure that you have a cold glass of iced water to wash down the saltiness of the meat.
It was my first time experiencing Brazilian food and I would say that it was a pleasant experience. Rio Brazilian is quite an impressive place to visit for its exotic cuisine, lovely ambience and reasonable prices.
