In touch with the nature…

Since don’t know when (so so long ago), I have not been keeping ‘in touch’ with the nature for a long long time. Weekends to us were like time to wake up late, play computer games, clean up the house, or go shopping… this is the standard routine and it’s really boring. I thought it’s time to do something different.
Thanks to Annabelle who planned the trip to the northern part of the island. We woke up ‘real early’ (7.30am - that’s early for weekends right?) on Saturday morning.
We started our walk at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve around 0915 hrs. The admission ticket is only $1 each. The first thing we saw was a squirrel!
“Look, squirrel! Cute leh!” I exclaimed.
“Mmm… yup, it’s delicious…” Alan replied.
I rolled my eyes and look at him. The rest of the trip, he was looking at the wildlifes as delicacies, occasionally whispering (*jokingly) in my ears on how delicious each of them would taste.
Overall it was fun, we were hoping to see crocodile but no luck. We saw a huge monitor lizard, mudskipper, some exotic birds and pretty flowers. Went to see demo on prawn catching which was really interesting.
Things to bring
a) extra strong mosquitoes and insects repellent.
b) suncreen lotion (slab on face or any exposed area of the body)
c) cap / hat
d) a bottle of water
e) umbrella / raincoat (in case it rains)
After Sungei Buloh, we dropped by the Dragonfruit farm and bought a full bag of fruits. Then we went to Hay’s Dairies Goat Farm to visit the ‘meh meh’ goats and tried the goat’s milk.
It was very educational and refreshing experience for us. I would say that it’s worth spending the time on a saturday morning visiting these places! :)
